ok so my smoke gen works but my temp control light does not come on when my cord is plugged into smoker and smoke gen. light comes on when cord unplugged. its not the element because i plugged it in directly and it worked

if you have a ohm meter check the cable that  connects the tower to the smoke generator if it is good,  check for loose connections  or barley made connections inside the smoke generator... you  may  have a intermittent connection inside the  the  smoke generator, possibility on the plug or on the digital  controls
