I swear that if nothing else I've eaten my last seedless watermellon.  It is to late this year but next spring I'm growing our Grandfathers' yesterdays watermellon: The Great Charleston Gray.

Besides I like the seeds of the Gray. They have a nice nutty flavor.  Plus a good Gray will go 35 plus pounds.

When i was a kid growing up on my parents farm in S Calif we had 5 acres of different kinds of melons. I got to really hate em. To this day it just takes me back to them ripe melon days of summer  :o

You got me thinking about this variety again. Yesterday I stopped at a couple of farmer's markets, and several road side stand hoping they were in season up here. Had no luck, but I'll keep looking.
