Hey everyone. New to the forums. I've been reading a lot and am close to buying an BS. I'd like to put it in my garage and run a range hood and some ducting to exhaust the smoke (like Mr. Walleye's setup). Would this range hood pull enough CFM's to work? http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=193741-14-403001&lpage=none

rbentle2...

my opinion is that 160 cfm is adaquate depending on how much duct you have and how it is terminated... in other words it maybe ok with 10 feet of duct terminated into 10mph prevailing winds but it may not have the poop for 20 feet of duct terminated into 30mph wind...

this mini kitchenette hood pooped in out fine...

you gotta eat...

Thanks owstrich. I'm guessing I'd have less than 5 feet to vent.

Solid piping is better.  A straight  run is best, but if you need to change direction, use 45's instead of 90's.  If your vent is going from a warm to cold zone, make sure you insulate.
