My brother and family are coming over from the mainland Saturday morning for Thanksgiving. We have a local store that always has fresh prime ribs in a thai marinade or a spicy marinade so I'm going to buy 8 lbs of those along with some oysters for appies which will be smoked for Saturday dinner. We'll start with some Scotch smoked salmon and roll on from there. Sunday we will do the turkey but not in the smoker. Hope all you fellow canuckleheads out there have a great Thanksgiving. Anybody with family serving over in 'Stan, may they keep safe and well.

Mr Walleye

Sounds like an excellent Thanksgiving T2!

My wife's family always has a get together so we will be heading there for the traditional feast.

All you Canucks have a great holiday weekend and everybody else... well, have a great weekend!  ;)

I'm getting a 5-point seat belt harness installed on my chair in the living room, and cleaning the face shield on my old racing helmet to watch the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race from Talladega on Sunday. ;D

Happy Thanksgiving fellow Canucks.  Not smoking anything this weekend although leftover Smoked Salmon appetizers are on agenda.

Nothing but Turkey, Turkey & more turkey.  Maybe a little Pumpkin pie as well.  Nice!!

Leafs looked good last night against Ottawa even thought they lost.  Hopefully they can do it tonight.

Go Leafs Go!!

I'm going to smoke a ham for Sunday dinner with the In-Laws. Also going to brew my annual batch of smoked porter for the Christmas season.  :P

Oh and Carter? brace yourself for another tuff season. The only ones who think it's the Leaf's year live in Ontario. ;) :o

Go CANUCKS Go !!!!!

The Doe flew down to Washington DC Wednesday.  Her cousin is a senators aide or something like that.  Anyway he gets married tomorrow.  Me and the kids stayed home so we're headed back to my parents farm tomorrow.  Thanksgiving turkey for the weekend, no smoking time.

Actually the best part of the weekend, is I'm going to be "initiating the processing of the 2007-08 pork butt and bacon supply"  ie pig slaughter day.

Everyone (except my pigs) have a terrific Thanksgiving.

Did those prime ribs yesterday with a dozen oysters fired in as appies after the ribs had left the smoker. Ribs were in a Thai marinade smoked with a combo of cherry and pecan. Turned out great.

Gentlemen, you make me wish I were Canadian.   That said, I have an IPA in a secondary fermenter.  A fair share of which is earmarked for Alaska.

Best wishes for a fine celebration.   Hope to share one some day.

Happy thanksgiving.

We'll make you an honorary one for the day, Consig, that way you get an extra day off! BTW-If you've got a whole batch of IPA in the carboy, you must be as big a fan as MWS and I.

And we can throw in Columbus Day too.  I'd like to try the beer in that poster, but first need to find out where Bellingham is.  Hope you guys had a good holiday.
