Error "E 1"

Hi
I am new to this forum. I got my Bradley Digital Smoker yesterday. So today I want to smoke some salmon and after about 1.5 hours of smoking the smoker generator is beeping and showed E 1 in the temperature section. I turned the unit off and unplugged the power cord. After plugging it back in still "E 1" and I can not reset the temperature or the smoke timer. Any idea why? This is the first time I use the unit and if this is what I have to look forward to, maybe I made a mistake of buying a Bradley. If anyone can help, please do.
