Run without the smoker?

Can you run the smoker without the smoke?  I have already marinated some Elk and was going to dry it in the oven but received this nice smoker for Christmas.

Welcome to the forum. I guess you can; it would then be called an oven.   :D

not as fast as a dehydrator but works ok, given time. Vent wide open and all that...  ;D
