Finally got my smoker just tonight and have a question on seasoning it which I will do tomorrow. When you guys start this thing up, do you put 2 pucks on the slide and one on the burner? I guess this question will apply to ever time you start a smoke.

The best is to put 3 puck in the tube followed by 2 or 3 bubba pucks (aluminum pucks).  You need 2 additional pucks to push 1 on the burner plate which is why you want 2 or 3 extra.  The 3rd one allows you to push the last spent wood puck into the water and extinguishing it.  I believe Bryan at Yard and Pool carries them.  If you put extra wood on, the puck on the burner and the puck on the slide will be touching each other and you will partially burn the puck on the slide basically wasting it.  You will use bubba pucks on every smoke and is a worth while investment.

Thank you Gizmo. I unpacked my smoker after posting that question. After reading the instructions, I found my answer, but, it never hurts to have ideas from the group on here. Thanks again. By the way, does anybody know what part of Iowa Tinytim is from?

Tiny Tim

Just answered ya on the "location" thread.  Schleswig...in Crawford County.
