I'm going to see if Santa will bring me a PID this year.
Has anyone used the wall mount temp probe offered by Auber?

Then the question would be what level to mount it on--I normally only smoke w/ 1 or 2 racks and use the middle two positions.  Or I could drill 2 holes, and simply put a bolt in the one not used.  That way the temp probe is close to the meat no matter what height the rack is setting on.

And if anyone has this device, did you mount the probe on the back wall or side wall?  I wonder if the side wall opposite the smoke generator would give a more consistant temp w/out a heat source directly below it?

Thanks in advance

if you  are looking for a thermocouple for the bradley you  may want to consider this one and mount it on the top back of the bradley...

Drano,

I saw that sensor on the Auber website yesterday.  I am thinking of getting one too.  Somewhere on the site they have installation instructions.  The instructions say to install from the back.  I think they recommend just under the top rack or lower if you never use the top rack.   I like your two hole solution.

My pid is not working & Suyi thinks it is probably the sensor.  He told me how to test but I do not have the tool to test it so I have to send it in.  As in the past I emailed Auber & had a reply within an hour on a holiday.  His customer service skills are incredible.
