Smoke generator issue

I have a DBS 6 rack that is about 3-4 months old.  Recently I have noticed that when I set the smoke timer, somewhere through the smoke session the timer resets itself to 2 hours.  Has anyone else had this problem, or have a solution??  Just a side note:  The oven portion is being used at the same time, but there have been no problems with it, so I do not think it is a power supply issue.

Do you unplug the system between uses?  If not, unplugging might reset the logic.

Bottom line here will most likely be a call to Bradley Technical Support.

The techie in me though would like to know more for an@lysis.

You may not have used it enough since the errors started but does it happen when you start at a particular time or at any time setting?  By this, if you start with only 2 hours of smoke time, will it work correctly?

Thats a new one on me. I have never seen it happen or heard of it happening. I think I would follow Gizs advice and call Bradley tech.

This seems to be unrelated to any other functions.  I have set the smoke timer for 3 hours and 20 minutes, and looked at it 20 minutes later, and it is counting down from 2 hours.  I have also set it to smoke for 1 hour and 20 minutes, checked it in twenty minutes, and it shows just under 2 hours??  It has happened when cold smoking and hot smoking.  Everything on the oven side operates correctly.  I e-mailed Bradley tech service, and they suggested that I try turning on the smoker and when I set the timer to push the up arrow and the down arrow a few times because sometimes the buttons stick.  I gave that a try tonight and it counted down correctly.  I will try it again tomorrow and see what happens.  I do unplug the unit every time, as it is electronic and I leave the box outside in my screen room, so it is exposed to the elements.  I remove the smoke unit and put it in the garage so it does not get exposed to any moisture.  I will report back after I test it again tomorrow.

Super, thanks for the extra info Crispy.

Brings me back to my Navy days where I had a digital range strobe (dot on the screen that showed how far away an object was) on a radar scope that when told to move in one direction would start then jump back, and continue going in the correct direction then jump back.  The digital display (led number segment) had an address line internally shorted out that was causing the error evertime that line was suppose to be a 1 and it was shorted to a 0.  I worked hard at trying to blame the counting circuits instead of the display. 

I suspect if the problem continues, Bradley will replace the gen for you.  :)

I think there is something fishy like that as well.  I am going to try it again now.  I e-mailed Bradley on Sunday, and they replied on Monday.  It seems they are very customer service oriented.  Thanks for your help
