I was born and raised in Illinois.  Until I got married and became an Iowegian, I lived and voted in the Land of Lincoln.
I heard that Blagoyevich has named Roland Burris to fill Obama's seat.
Is the man suffering from a lapse in judgement or memory?  They have started impeachment procedings on him!
I'm not surprised that another Illinois gov is in trouble.  I am going to sit back and watch this saga unfold, though, west of the Mississippi.
Have you heard the new Illinois state slogan?
"Our Governors Make Our License Plates".

Well, I'm not sure which of my Seemore buddies wrote that, but I couldn't agree more.  I'm watching it from the eastern side with a bit of a grin on my face.  I'm not sure why this came as a shock to anyone as this is simply Chicago politics at its best.  What I really want to watch is the fallout from those who were willing to do business for the seat.  It ought to be interesting to see who all tried to get into that position by less than honorable ways.  Additionally, it could be extremely interesting if Blago decides to sing like a canary.this could have far reaching implications that go way beyond this senate seat.

He did announce the appointment but I'm not sure it will go through.  I'm not sure if the appointment has to be approved by the Senate or not.  Just another interesting chapter in the book that is the Blago Tales.

But didn't all this start when he refused to do business with Bank of America?
Some sort of payback. Don't know.

Blago selected Roland Burris.  I always liked him.  He has served several offices in state politics - comptroller and secretary of state.  I guess I was hoping he was one of the good guys..........I should have known better.  This is Illinois, the "suburb" of Chicago.....  ;)
