TIME TO SMOKE

Just curious.
:)
Some of you folks seem to smoke VERY frequently. I just wonder where you get the time. Are you retired? If not, what is your occupation that allows you so much time? What do you do with all the food you smoke? I work 50 hours a week and usually only smoke on week ends. There are only two of us so most of what I smoke has to be frozen for later use. Between smoking I make a lot of fresh sausage and our freezer get too full sometimes and I have to slack off.

I have plenty of time  ;D

I do smoke about 4 times a week. Just me, wife and daughter at times. Share with my neighbor cuz him and his wife are like family.

I love to make sausage and smoke and I am retired so have lots of time. The only restraint is there is only two of us and wecan only eat so much.I keep close family and hunting buddies wellsupplied but I still have to slow down quite often.

   I understand what your saying. It's just me here and most of my finished product gets frozen also. Most of the smoked food tastes great when reheated, some, so so. Anyway I look at it, it all tastes great.  :)

Just the wife and I here, the kids show up on most weekends to help devour whatever is in the smoker.  I also am fortunate to be able to work from the house for most of my shift!  I will say we do have quite the full freezer though, guess thats nothing to complain about!  And with everybody else I just enjoy cooking/smoking and sending it off to friends and co-workers!

I'm a stay-at-home-mom of two growing boys so between the 4 of us most of what I smoke gets devoured quickly.  If I do a big smoke it's either to stock the freezer or for a special occasion.  The last two smokes were for those reasons, both times were 4 butts.  The freezer restock batch was divided in to smaller packages and will be used for quick meals, lunches and company meals.

Thats alot of venison them apes could be putting the cross hairs on soon  ;D and helping dad smoke up the bambi.

The daughter and the oldest son made a mistake last year and stayed at grandma's when I took them hunting with me. The 7yr old told grandma he was going hunting that's what he came for. So he was there with me when I shot mine this year. Talk about tickled to death. Could see the sparkle in his eye, when I heard "Dad can I shoot one next year?" He wants to touch off the .50 cal muzzle loader this summer. Thinking about a 50 grain load for him to play with.

Smoking Duck

Lost my job a year ago....might as well make lemonade out of lemons  ;) ;D

I try to smoke anything and everything.  Anything that I don't think will be consumed within two days, gets thrown in the freezer, however, I have a freezer in the house, 2 more in the garage in use and a 3rd in the garage that is currently unused.  So, I vary rarely run out of freezer space.

I smoke every other weekend or so, sometimes more, sometimes less.

I have 4 kids, two of them teenagers. Hardly any leftovers to freeze.

I also take stuff to work and share.
