Hey all I need a favor. Years ago a young man came into my group. His handle is Prez. His name is Bill Stearns. Today he is where the fighting is at. He fixes Hellos Yes it is in a back water area only because we can't seem to protect the Hellos from damager.

Nevertheless, he is one of two that I've called my best friend. Told him that if he got his A$$ back here I would give him a SS Bradley. He laughed and said...it is a deal.

Then he said... you know I can find the beach...its the damn ocean I cannot see.

What I'm going to ask you all to do is maybe once a month or so you just drop him a line or two. Just say you are Olds' friend. Maybe tell him about what you are smokin' or something. Try not send any photos. The bandwidth there is limited.

I believe today Bill is about 33 years of age. He is good kid. Or as say he would say hell I was a kid 10 years ago when I met you..today I'm an adult. LOL~~! I guess that kind of dates me uh?

His E-mail addy is: [email protected] If you feel the need to write to him please do. Let him know that all is good.

Much thanks folks. I will not to ask something of this group again.
Olds

BTW Bill is single and a damn fine looking young man. He takes in stray animals, does not smoke, cooks and does the laundry and dishes. If you got any daughters who are single he would be a good catch.

Thanks guys... I know he will live through your smokin' postings. Someday he going to come home. We are going to sit down to the biggest, badness, Prime Rib, PorterHouse, Lobster, Shrimp dinner in the world... then we are going get a little drunk together.

Find a Lady for him and then raise some GrandKids that I can ruin with love. Take his sons fishin' and show his daughters how to smoke foods...show them what my GrandFather taught me, and how to grow things.

Thanks guys....

Hey Olds- I just rifled off a quick & short note to your friend Prez. Hope all is reggae there.[;)][:)] If ever I decide to travel 2000 miles to Florida~~~I hope to take you up on on of those
quote:
biggest, badness, Prime Rib, PorterHouse, Lobster, Shrimp dinner in the world... then we are going get a little drunk together.

I just got done talking with Prez, he is doing great. The food is good, so he is happy [:D]

He said about the E-mails you all have sent: ...thanks, every bit of contact I get with the real world is much appreciated.

I'm going to be sending to him 2 or 3 Earthboxes, some worm casings, mushroom compost, Fish and Seaweed extracts, a bag of my homemade fertilizer and heatwave tomato seeds. He likes to grow stuff, but at 110 Degrees he is limited. He wants to try cukes but I don't see them setting fruit. I'm going to check with my gardening friends and see if they know of some that will take that kind of heat. He also wants enough seeds to grow a 40 foot square yard of grass.... shoot know what type of grass that would take that kind of temp... oh well I will be a-looking!

Anyway he is real glad to hear from you all!

Get your own gator... I ate so much gator and rattlesnake as a boy that I would shoot anyone trying to feed me that again. I bet as a kid I've eaten more of those two items than most any two kids together have eaten fried chicken... we was kind-of-poor when I was a youngin'.

I can still close my eyes and hear my Momma's 22 cal go off...Pop Pop, and I knew that tomarrow night we was eatin' fried rattlesnake.

Then a few times a year we go gatoring. Somehow my Grandfather, Pop (not my polish one) who was a real Florida Cracker could always seem to find the big boys. We get two or three each trip. Of course Pop carried a big gun. 10 gauge with slugs. One or two of those in the head and a gator don't move to much.

Pop was the hunter. If it moved and could be eaten he brought it to us. From frog legs to wild turkey....

Don't get me wrong now. Many of the things Pop brought us I liked to eat and everyone was real proud whenever we heard his pickup pull up into the driveway...but you can keep that damn gator and snake.

Now if you ever get on down here, I tell you right now you will eat some of them best foods of your life. Just give me a month's warning so I can age a Prime Rib. If you can throw a 7-8 foot cast net we can go shrimping and also grab a few bullnose lobsters. Can you believe they are getting upwards to 18.00 per pound for bullnose here that come out of our own bay! IMO they are not quite as good as Maine Loster, but they sure beat the tar out of the lobsters from the Keys.

Kummok

110°F [:0] YUCK![xx(] We start sweating at 50° up here. I just sent Prez greetings from Alaska and included this "Ptarmigan hunting in 2°" photo to help him cool off! Forgive the bald head glare, but I have to remove the nice, warm helmet to shoot these things. [:D] Anyone have a good receipe for smoking these tough old birds[?] Meat is DARK, tastes a bit like chicken, very tough but soaking overnight in baking soda/water tenderizes them.[:p]
