Proposed Heater/Fan Mod

A while back I installed a 2" fan in my OBS. The only thing it has done is make it difficult to get the V tray in and out.

'Been looking at different things on the board. Beef's heater/blower. But I see that he had to notch his V tray.

Mr Walleye used an external blower on his proofer.

I am planning to relocate my SG for cold smoking. And the possibility of space for more racks.

Last time I looked Grainger still carried the 76 CFM blower.

What I'm thinking is to add such a blower with rheostat and a finned heater in its discharge to the OBS

Not sure where to locate the intake of the blower. ... Top or bottom. ... Heat rises. ...


#1) I could cut a couple of slots in the back of my OBS for intake and discharge.


Not terribly appealing....

#2) Another thought which I'm more partial to is to set blower on top of the OBS with a suitable air gap and duct the discharge to the smoke inlet hole. Using some type of mixer (depicted in the upper drawing) for smoke and hot air.  


Any thoughts?
