Given the events these past two days I have now come to the conclusion that we need to re-think our policy of employees not being armed at work.

It is a shame but the times and the way some people think have changed. When they make their statement it is in the cost of many lives.

I will start to carry again...

You're right Olds.
The workplace is statistically the most likely place not to die accidentally but to be murdered.

Olds,

I used to own a business that employed 250 plus.  Turnover was 3 times a year; around 750 people.  I always assumed that at least one of them might be a nut who might want to visit the boss.

I have had stores that were the scene of gang wars with Uzis used to settle the dispute.  I have had employees shot and mangled.  I have seen first hand the destruction a gun can cause in the wrong hands.

I  have put people in the big house for 25 years.  My life has been threatened many times.

I always had my hand in my briefcase when I left my office.  Weapons in the hands of competent, trained, good people are not the problem and they can become the solution.  I can assure you that when weapons are banned, it does not prevent the criminal element or crazies from carrying.
