Hello I have been lurking around here for about a month. I am a 28 year old newbie to this whole topic. I enjoy fishing and hunting so this was just the next step in enjoying my past times even more. My grandfather was a farmer and like most made his own sausage. My father was not involved once he left the farm so he can't remember much of the process. I was given his sausage press which was my great grandfathers press. I have been making jerky in the oven and fresh sausage for about a year now. I am now just getting into making smoked sausage. I have learned most of what i know from Rytek kutas book. I thank everybody for there help given already and for future help.

Welcome M11, you're off to a good start with Rytek's book. A lot of good info available here too from some very talented individuals.
Rodney Dangerfield got his material from watching me.
