O.K., so I purchased my hubby a Masterbuilt Digital Smoker a year and a half ago welcoming him home from deployment. Last week the darn thing pooped itself  >:( (definitely containing myself here) and after contacting Masterbuilt my only option was to send 150. for a new replacement (can not replace heating element) plus shipping to Hawaii which would cost more than I purchased the smoker for initially. My bad for not researching other brands before purchasing b/c I would have purchased a Bradley after all the great reviews I have read on this forum including the excellent customer service everyone compliments. Thank you all for helping me decide this will be a good purchase with no regrets. Hope he likes his Christmas present!

Hello Mattca and welcome to the forum. You are going to love the Bradley and if you have any questions at all just ask. In Bradley land there is no dumb questions. Have you decided which one you will get him, if not maybe we can help you decide. We have a prominent member on the forum from Hawaii by the handle of Ka hona. He is your Island guru extraordinaire. So if you need help just ask.

Hello and welcome to the forum.    I have the 6 rack digital.   After a years use I would most likely get the 6 rack standard and buy an aftermarket temperature controller.   Better tem pcontroll and programmable optioins to boot.

Just a thought in case you have not ordered yet.

Steven, They only make the 6 rack in a digital.

Hi there MATTCA and welcome to the forum.

When I was shopping around for an electrical smoker, the 40" Masterbuilt with the glass door was high on my list and it sounded great because you can use your own wood and dont have to open the door to check on it because of the side loading. However, there customer service left a lot to be desired. Slow on email replies, not wanting to answer too many questions...etc.

Then I stumbled onto this forum and the nice people here helped me make the decision and most importantly, all the reves I read about Bradley's Customer Service and Brian, which all proved to be right. I contacted a UK based agent of Bradley and they were even nicer. I am planning soon to buy another smoker and I WILL BE A BRADLEY.

I am not as "think" as you "drunk" I am.

CRG, good point, but it leads to the question - why isn't there a non-digital six rack ?? I've never looked at the size of the OBS vs digital, are the digitals larger?? Is the rack spacing closer in the digital??

Tiny Tim

Slam...the digital comes in both 4 and 6 rack versions, the non digital only comes in a 4 rack in 2 finishes, black or stainless.  The 6 rack DBS is taller than the 4 rack dbs or either non digital version.  I've never touched a 6 rack yet, but I think I read somewhere that the racks are a teeny bit closer together than the other models too, but I can't say that for sure.
