my father in law brought me a deer roast this morning and i put it in the smoker with 2 boston butts i was smoking. i know nothing about deer, what would be a good internal temp for this?

You can cook deer just as you would beef, however burnt deer meat tastes pretty bad. The best way is medium rare, but no more than medium. It has a tendancy to get hard and chewy if you go too far. I typically don't eat any meat this way (I like my meat well done), but for venison I always cook medium rare.
Rodney Dangerfield got his material from watching me.
