Ok I got the northern tool stuffer trying to save a few $$ until I was sure I was going to like this.

For Christmas My familiy got me the following from Sausage maker

http://www.sausagemaker.com/55020jerkyattachmentfor5lbstuffer.aspx

And

http://www.sausagemaker.com/56104setof3stainlessstuffingtubesfor5lbstuffer.aspx

That came with the collar as well.

Problem is that neither of the collars (White) are threaded the same as my NT 5# stuffers collar.  For the tubes that is fine as I can just use the balck collar that came but the jerky attachment the collar cannot be removed.

I would have figured that the threads and collars were pretty standard.   Anyone else ran up on this and/ or have a solution other than buy another stuffer?

Thanks, Steven

I have the Gander Mt. five pound stuffer, and have replace all the plastic tubes with stainless steel tubes from Sausage Maker, and like yours they fit perfectly, and will fit any 5 pound stuffer with a 1 1/2 inch diameter connecting point.

I'm surprise that the collar doesn't have a standard thread.  I don't have a solution, but if you haven't used it, Sausage Maker will exchange or refund your money. Have you double check to make sure the right part was ordered and shipped. Is there any possibility you may have the attachment for the larger stuffer?

Have you tried to screw the bung nut (plastic) on your stuffer before you slide it back into the tabs of the frame?

I have a PS Seasonings 5lb and a LEM 5lb and have now had this problem. The meat canister and threads on both are identical.

The thread may look close. I'll bet one is standard and the other metric.
Get a rule and measure the distance of the threads. Better yet use a micrometer if you have one.

Send the jerky att. back to them.
