I've got some canned roasted salted peanuts and some blanched raw peanuts to smoke.
Should I treat them differently and if so how?

Daveo, I know when Seemore does his smoked peanuts he uses blanched peanuts and they turn out great every time. So they tell me I still haven't got my samples yet. Others on the forum have used dry roasted as well with good results. So basically use both of them and experiment. Let us know what your thoughts on the differences between the two of them.

Sounds good.I'll just know they are finished by the crunch!

Daveo, patience is the key with these peanuts getting their crunch.
And let us know what you think of the dry-roasted nuts, too.  We have always used the blanched peanuts, but I am curious about the dry-roasted ones.
10.5, I thought that Seemore had given you some peanuts.  I will have to make sure he does.

Mrs. S,
Dry roasted is all I have ever used when smoking peanuts.  I typically smoke 'em and sauce 'em and then put them in my dehydrator to let the sauce really dry on the peanuts.  Works everytime.

Geez,,,,now I want some of those dang peanuts!

I've tried fresh peanuts but now all I ever do is dry roasted.

I will sauce them then through in the smoker give them a couple hr of smoke with the cabnet temp around 180 F till crispy or if I need the room in the smoker I move them to the dehydrator.

The last batch I did I smoked them with a small batch of snack sticks and kept then in the smoker till the sticks were done.

Got some sittin on my desk that I sauced up with
Franks Red Hot Wings Sweet Heat BBQ and some sauced with CT.

Well I did the raw ones first.Just olive oil and fine popcorn salt. They are awesome.Did some almonds too, with salt, garlic powder and chili powder and they are great too.Next, pistachios and the roasted peanuts.
