Rick posted his smoked Shepard's pie that I made, so here is how I put it together.

First I browned 3 pounds of GM. Seasoned with some of his homemade BAM.

Cooked up some frozen peas and corn.

Made up 4 cups of brown gravy.

Made 10 pounds of potatoes, 2 sticks of butter with a few splashes of milk, salt. pepper and BAM.

I mixed the peas and corn with the ground meat and added the gravy. Mix this well.

Then I put a layer of mashed potatoes on the bottom of the foiled pan.

I added the meat mix to the bottom layer of potato

Topped with more mashed potato.

I put the larger pan on a cookie sheet. Glad I did that because it ran over some. Baked at 425* for 35 minutes then topped with cheese and put back in oven until the cheese melted some.

I also made two like this. One I put in the oven and the other Rick smoked on his super smoker  :D

Here is the oven made Shepard's pie. Rick couldn't wait to put it on a plate and it fell apart on him. (No patience) LOL

So this whole recipe made one large and two small Shepard's pies. We were able to foil one of the small ones and vac seal and freeze it for later.

That really sounds good.

If I made it, I would have to cook it in the oven.

I don't have a super smoker, I just got a Traeger. ;D

Thanks MrsNepas

Now that I can follow a good lead, it should be a cake pie walk.

Nice slide show MrsNePas, the pie looks great too.

Just corn and GB at our house, no one but me likes peas.

We didnt have any GB the other day so we put a lb of cooked bacon in it.

Caneyscud

Mrs, you ever tried scallops and mushrooms in a cream sauce instead of the GB and veggies?

Caney,

Now that flavor profile sounds like a perfect match.  Now I have two dishes to try on.

Stop it. Just stop it now.

Okay, then I won't tell you about the other shepherds pies.  But, remember Shepherd's pie is made with lamb, if with anything else it is called a Cottage Pie.  But I digress (common affliction).

Lamb and Leek
Sausage, sweet potato and squash
One based loosely on the KY Hot Brown
or the one with Skate - tasted like eating a pie out of lobster.
or my second favorite,  the Hearty Drunken Lamb - lamb and stout
My favorite is the scallop one

We had a very good Irish restaurant, I frequented for lunch while they were open.  Got to know the chef - could barely understand him - very heavy accent.

He was working on a smoked salmon one, but they closed before he could perfect it enough to put on the menu!

That looks amazing !
I am not a fan of Cottage Pie  ( Caney, notice correct terminology )   :P
But I think I am going to give this another chance

I see some smoked GB, some smoked cheese, maybe add a touch of bacon

Sounds like a project for the weekend
All I wanted to do was slow smoke some ribs.  Another addiction created thanks to the Bradley that requires regular servicing...  But what an addiction to have.  Even better to share here with some of the best people on the planet.

Would you like smoke with that sir ?
