Hab,

Nice job of how you laid out the newsletter on the recipe site.  You even locked it up correctly. I am impressed.

When I've had Trey do things lately I have forgot to find out why you have some restrictions as Admin.

Next, soon there will be a total upgrade on the recipe site. I've held off from going to 4.0 the past three months so if there are any bugs it will give them time to work them out.

Also, should you accept new members on the recipe site before you do copy their E-mail address and send them to 10.5.

Good job~~! Very professional to say the least.

You are correct Olds. Habs has done a GREAT Job with everything on the Recipe site. I for one Applaud his efforts and accomplishments with it.

Thanks!

Olds;

I was able to do it after viewing a few of the ones you did, and using the help icon to walk me through it.

When you upgrade to version 4, can you give some thought to adding HTML, and tables. I believe the HTML codes will give me the ability to work in graphic mode. I know there have been problems with the HTML code in the past, but they may have worked out the quirks. If HTML does not give me the ability to work in graphic mode, then it would not be needed.

Hab, you can use HTML now. There is an option to turn it on at the bottom of the boards as you create them or you can edit them in ADMIN.

The only problem I know of HTML is if we should allow outsiders to post to a thread where  it is turned on.  It is then they could hack us.  As long as when you set up a forum you turn off allowing it be posted to in ADMIN I don't see a problem.  In fact some of the postings I did are done in HTML so I could get some things done that the normal board codes would not allow.

BTW have you ever edited in the advanced mode (level 3?) Do you know that if you are in that edit level you can copy someone's web page and then past it in the posting window and even that web site's links will work? Now unless it has been fixed you do not want to edit in that advaced mode.  Your codes will go insane. Just use it to create an original posting then go back to level 2 for any editing.

I'll study some of the features sometime today.

It's the advance mode that I can not switch to. I thought it was linked to not having HTML available. In the past I've tried turning the HTML option on, and it didn't have any effect. The switch editor mode still does not work, and I can't access the advance mode. That is why I thought there was no HTML option.

If I can use the advance mode, that would make things a lot easier for me in setting up new posts. The next time you speak with Trey can you ask him what the possible problems could be that I can not switch to advance mode? There is not hurry on this.

Go to your personal UseCP, click on it. Under "Settings and Options" click on" Edit Options."  Scoll down to the bottom "Miscellaneous Options" and that box will allow you to change how you post or edit a posting.

This option should have nothing to do with ADMIN.

I strongly suggest you test out a posting in your private area when using this mode.  Level 2 Standard has almost all of the same options as the enhanced mode. You can do HTML in the standard mode.

EDIT:

Got with Trey and we found where there where some restrictions on you. I have removed them and you now have full access to all functions. I would ask you to please be very careful and when you want to do the HTML.  Test out what you are going to do in your private area first.  I just checked and HTML codes are allowed in your private area.
Enjoy!

BTW Trey said there are still some small bugs in the next upgrade and he suggest I wait until 4.02 comes out. This upgrade is a complete major overhaul.
I also had to edit the information above 10.5 for some serious grammatical errors.

In the past I use to have access to the advance mode, I guess the last upgrade reset everything. I generally us the advance mode for correcting errors. They are a lot easier to find in that mode, as is typing in text and data, but I always use standard mode to type in the codes. I'll take a look at my personal settings and make the changes.
