Smoke ring

I've learned that you can't get a smoke ring with an electric smoker.  Is there a way to achieve this maybe with some sort of add-on or adapter or something to put a few pieces of charcoal in or something?

You could find some way to do it, but why, it will not change the taste. You could put a small foil pan next to the water bowl and put charcoal or wood in it, or have some kind of flame inside.  ???
