I have a pretty lean prime rib that is rubbed up with salt, pepper, flour, granulated garlic, oregano, paprika and some minced garlic. I plan on brushing off some of the rub as it looks pretty dry right now. I put rub on last night and in frig in plastic bag. No juice in bag at all. Should I maybe put some bacon on top of prime rib with toothpicks? The last one I did out of the same cut but different rub was moist at 130 degrees.

The only time my prime rib was dry was when I overcooked it.

I'd try the bacon though.

Is there no fat cap on the top at all.  You don't need much but if you have any fat on top you should be good to go.  The bacon won't hurt, but not sure it would help either.

Good luck

There is very little fat on top. Think I will put some bacon on top.
