The chat room is 'open' 24/7.  Why not use it?  The official gathering time is Tuesday evening.

A few of us discussed this idea in the chat room last night.

ClassicRockGriller proposed the following.  Pick another night, maybe Wednesday or Thursday.  Pick a topic.  People tune in.

The topics can be far-ranging.  How I cook my butt, how to replace my cracked faceplate or I got a nifty new ...

One scenario is having a volunteer presenter.  Similar to someone doing an article in the newsletter.  The presentation could include text, pics and/or video.  The presentation would be followed by a general discussion and Q&A session.

Another scenario is picking a topic and having a general discussion on it.

Topics would have to be submitted in advance and advertised a couple of days prior to the target date.

So, the survey questions are:

  • Do you think the idea would fly?
  • Would you be interested in participating in one way or another?
  • How often should we do this?  Once a month, twice a month?
  • What would be your favored evening?
  • Does 10 PM ET sound like a reasonable time?  (Gives the left-coasters a chance.)
Please post back with your ideas and comments.

Thanks

I'm in. It is a great idea to have a topic night. A night to do some brain picking.

We may need a thread to explain the chat room. where it is at, how to log in/on. I know most all of us already know this information, but just in case you haven't noticed. We have been getting more and more new members to the forum every week. They may need a starter course.

P.s
Thanks Arnie I dropped the ball on this thread.

Sounds like a good idea - might be a bit of a problem with video since I'm on dial up. But I think others would benefit.
