Talking Probe Placement

When measuring the cabinet temp, is the saying for probe placement "just below the last rack of meat being smoked and toward the front of the tower?"

when we say last rack, does this imply that if we have 3 racks in the box, that we are to put the probe furthest from the heating element, but below that top rack?

In that statement - last rack = bottom rack.

You don't want food in between the probe and the element. this (especially with cold meat) will cause a false low reading.
