I have a son who is allergic to all nuts. I was about to smoke something with some pecan and then realized that it is a nut tree. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is a problem and will cause the same allergic reaction?

I'd run that one by your allergist...     Not worth the risk.

And don't forget about oak and hickory too.
I like animals, they taste good!

Well, that's a good point about oak and hickory. I have smoked with these woods and didn't even think about the risk. There was no issue and no reaction noticed. I will def call the allergist and ask
