i just bought that plug and play from auber.  i have a question for you guys?

i had it hooked up i was messing around with it.  seemed to work fine.  then i wanted to see if the smoke tower would advance the pucks.  it did not.  the motor didn't even sound like it was turning.  any help?

i'm not trying to control the smoker tower from the pid.  i just wanna be able to push the button on the smoke generator when i want to smoke.

thanks

J&C - I don't use the PID to control the SG, I just plug in direct. I think the Auber comes with an aditional cord that lets youdo that, If not, it is just a computer power cord. Where it could come in handy is when you get to doing sausage and such where the smoke is introduced in mid-stream.

How do you have the SG plugged in - is it in the PID or directly to an outlet? If into the PID, then the PID is controlling it based upon the R1 and R2 settings. If not into the PID, is the power lite lit when you plug the SG into an outlet? If not check to make sure the plug is properly seated, if so check the fuse in the back, you may have blown a fuse. If the power light does light up, make sure the on switch is in the on position and the switch lit up when you turn it on.

Do you have an OBS or DBS.     With the digital you need a separate wire to plug the SG into a power outlet.    That wire could have been bought from Auber or you can use a power wire from a computer.    The OBS can be wired to auber to run everything.    The directions that came with the PID should explain that and have a diagram, at least mine did.
