Just a point of interest. I work for an architectural millwork company and I have recently learned that we are bidding on an addition to the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. If win the bid. it will include a new very complex Bobby Flay restaurant.

Good luck on the bid!

The Food Channel, IMO, has brought back some quality to broadcasting, and all of their host are great. Furthermore, I seem to really like Flay's way of hosting a show the best and it is not because its a Q based show. He is just good at what he does.

Food Network is so inspiring.  I actually went into some type of Renaissance watching Food TV.  All of the hosts are inspiring in their own way. I used to watch Emeril a lot, but he has gotten boring to me.  My favorites are Alton Brown, Tyler Florence, Ina Garten(Barefoot Contessa) and of course Paula Dean because she cooks all the stuff I can't eat any longer.  You know there is Health, and with Paula's cooking it is SHMELTH foods.  Deep fried goodness...ah the memories of stuff like that!  Yes, I like Bobby Flay too.

Watching Food Network actually got me into the kitchen every other night, and inspired the desire to remodel my kitchen...Spent almost $27K on appliances, but yet to start the remodel, darn it!

I like Alton because he teaches...I even have a personally autographed copy of one of his cookbooks.

Hey Hab!

They have these things called satellite dishes that even work in New York! [:D]

Worth it just to get Food Network!

One of my favorite and most enjoyable show is Iron Chef. Seeing them run around and being that creative in 1 hour is inspiring. I just wonder if they are told what the secret ingredient is.

I don't watch a lot of T.V. but when I do......75% of the time it's the Food Network. I love the BBQ competion shows.

I like the BBQ cookoffs and stuff. Emeril is pretty good.

I like Flay's BBQ show, another couple on PBS I enjoy is the one guys show (can't remember his name, he's known for Beer Butt Chicken with grey hair and beard) and Steven Raichlens BBQ U.

I've read before that they are given a short list of possible secret ingredients and it is up to them to pick beforehand what they want their kitchen stocked with.  So, they have an idea, but never know the exact ingredient until it is unveiled.

Nobody has mentioned Giada yet???  ROWR! [:p]

My FAVORITE channel!

Bobby is OK. Emril is a GAS BAG, and out my my league if that makes him or his viewers happy (too theatrical).

MY favorites are Alton Brown (still fuming over his advice to omit the stuffing in Thanksgiving turkey for purely scientific reasons and that we'd somehow better off making 'stove top' dressing)... and in MY humble opinion, Mario B. strikes me as the overall best CHEF (as opposed to cook) of them all.

Then there is the Italian chick... "everday Italian"? She's pretty good, if for no other reason as her chest and willingness to show it off.

Martha Stewart should be banned! She's arrogant, brusque and obtusive not to mention a lying cheat and over-the-hill Julia Childs wanna-be! Julia was never over-the-hill and is STILL a better cook/host than Martha could ever be! (Butter rules)

And whats with the california dude on the 100,000 acre vineyard and the fabulous (rich) friends he invites over? Another HACK in my book.

Sorry if I offended any of you and your favorites....
