Hey gang,
Need some help here.  I think we are going to be cutting up a beef the weekend of the 29/30th and my birthday is on the 30th.
What I am thinking, is if I haul my Bradley out to the farm that weekend I could do up a fresh brisket on the Sunday for family dinner.

My dilemma is that I have searched the net and can't find a good brisket rub recipe.  Everything I find is an oven roast with veggies in it like a weird stew[xx(]  I want some real barbecue like the pork butt I did last weekend.  It tasted awesome, so if I have to I will use the same rub, but I figure someone has a good beef rub recipe out there.

No I can't look it up in Smoke and Spice, because I dont own it yet - hoping that's something I'm getting for a birthday gift.[;)]

WhiteTailFan,
here is one from the S&S book, It's a main all-purpose rub they claim is good on briskets.

3/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup ground black pepper
1/4 cup coarse salt(kosher)
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons chili powder
2 Tablespoons garlic powder
2 Tablespoons onion powder
2 Teaspoons cayenne

This makes about 2 cups of rub, hope this helps.[:D]
