I get a call from my baby boy this weekend.  Conversation went like this...Hey Ma you know we're coming out this week end...yes Mat I do.....well Ma I'm bring "trusty blue"... who I say?  The ice chest he says.  Ok...and this means what?  Well can you smoke up a pack of ribletts just for us to take back.(his brothers are also arriving this week end)and put aside in freezer.  You can make us all more to eat while we're there.  Ok I laugh.  And Ma......can you use Jan's Rub on them.  Anything else I ask....well can you make us a batch of Jan's Rub to take home also!  Geez KyNola and Jan you've hooked my boy!  Many thanks again for the recipe!

This best explains ribletts  http://bbq.about.com/cs/ribs/a/aa092003a.htm.  I've bought them for years(for soup or grilling) but never thought of smoking them until someone here did (I think OU812...forgive me if I got the wrong person) I buy them at the AFB commissary.  Right now they are running $9.99 for a 10lb box/bag.  But I have picked them up before at Albertsons or Luckys.  Ask the butcher about them.  Different parts of the county calls them different things.  The ones I get have flat button like bones.  They are quite meaty and have lots of flavor. Jans Rub is perfect on them.  With or without sauce smoked ribletts are great.
