I just threw a brisket on the BDS after preheating this morning.  I set the over timer for 9:00, set the temp at 220, it was holding right about 210F.  Things seemed to be going along good.  Just as I was getting ready to head indoors I heard the untl beeping.  I checked the oven and it had reset to 4:00 time, and 280 F, basically it rebooted.  I have watched it for 20 minutes and it has done this three times.  The smoke side of the unit is working great.  Something I am doing wrong, do I have a bad unit?  I am firing up my propane smoker just in case...  My confidence is low right now but I am keeping the faith.  Any ideas?  Anyone seen this before?  Thank you!!

Check your connections on the back of the Smoke Generator. It sounds like the plugs are not completely seated and you walking around or the wind blowing is jiggling the plug enough to break the connection just for a second and it is starting over like your are just powering it up.

Plugs not being completely seated is common on new smokers

I will check that the plugs are seeded correctly and are secure thank you!  I also just noticed (messing with it now) that if I select the oven temp button to change the temp during a cook it turns the oven off and resets it (4hs, 280F).  Maybe that is normal and I just need to reread the directions.  Resetting the time and temp each adjustment is not that big of a deal, perhaps that is how the unit is prorammed.

When you push the oven temp the set point should start flashing then you can arrow the temp set point up or down depending on what your doing. When it stops flashing that should be the programmed set point and you shouldn't have to move it again. Check your PM's
