How many users believe Bradley should issue a product recall & replace all the "bad" elements?

GusRobin

How do you know which ones are bad? The actual percentage of units having problems is actually small. While it seems like a lot of folks are having problems because they come on here and post, how many people go looking for a forum and post " I am not having problems"?
I think they are handling it the best way they can.

Why issue a product recall? When you can call them if you have a bad element and they will replace it with a new one. Isn't that the same thing and a whole lot cheaper? Most places that have a recall usually have you pay to send the product back then they look at it and maybe send you something back. Bradley has been handling this situation more than adequately If you ask me. There is several threads started and completed about the heating elements and the fact that they have had an issue with them failing. This situation has been resolved with there being a new supplier of the elements. All elements that have failed and have been called in to Bradley Customer Service have been replaced, to the best of my knowledge.

gwarren, let me welcome you to the forum that you have been a member of for 2 years and apparently never posted until now.  Assuming you have been reading but not posting over those 2 years you know that Bradley had an issue with a heating element manufacturer and took steps to remedy the situation as effectively as they could.  I'm also going to assume that after 2 years your heating element stopped working.  Have you called Bradley?  Did they offer to take care of you?  Did you supply them with the numbers on your defunct heating element so they could confirm that it was part of the defective batch?

In short, my opinion is that Bradley has done everything possible to remedy the situation and there is no reason for a recall.

BTW. I'm not
Agreeing with GR & 10.5 just because they are active members. I never had any issues with my smoker other than the E errors
On the digital model. I called Bradley and they were extremely helpful and
Knowledgable and got me
The parts I needed.

Smoking Alligator

I have to admit, I am one of the fortunate OBS owners and have never had a problem with my heating element.  I purchased a spare in Yard and Pool just in case cause I heard about this problem but havent had to use it yet.  Ive done about 8 smoking sessions and my OBS is just like the day I got it.  With the exception that it has this fantastic smoke odor.  I hope my good fortune continues since I live overseas and it is more complicated to call bradley for help and purchase parts.

Wish me luck..

there is no reason for a  recall as long as Bradley is replacing the  elements and there  customer care is taking care of this  issue with the bad  heaters in  a positive customer care  should. They Found out that it was a bad batch or bad supplier and changed to another supplier and has been taking care of any and all bad elements even if they had to  ship several to a  single person.

I have had a 4 rack digital for 4 years now, got it from Cabela's, never had an issue, yes I am new to this forum and I have discovered a ton of good info since coming here. I love my Bradley and do not use it as much as I should. But I'm getting there.

Gents,
You guys are tough; must be getting kick-backs somewhere.  Okay answer me this...where in the forum maze of posts did Bradley Smoker issue a statement saying they sent out "bad" elements and if you have one contact us.  No where can I find anything like that.  Is that really customer service?

Btw my second element DF 120V 500W 1006 GYQ Series went out only after 3 smokes.

When the heating element problem first started showing up and there was several threads opened about it. Bradley (Head Office) Brian replied to several of them to contact CS and they would replace the elements. Brian also asked several of the folks with bad elements to send them to Bradley so that they could have them tested. Brian also opened a thread strictly for the heat elements. But of course since you have been a member for the last two years you have already read this thread. However I was kind enough to find it for you. Here it is http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=20592.msg251593#msg251593

BTW There isn't any of the members on this forum getting any kickbacks. Bradley smokers are quality products that work and have worked rather well for as long as I can remember. The people that reside on this forum, are here to attest to that fact. They believe in the product enough that they do everything that they can, to ensure that you and others who might be having problems (Doesn't matter what it is). Get those problems resolved and are back to smoking as soon as we can get you there.

I think from what I read that all that could be done was. I for one did read those before buying. But since I haven't heard one case of Bradley not backing their product up I still bought it. Only 4 months old and no problems. I also have done a lot of smokes in that time. I was also smart enough after reading all the warnings to buy an extra element. If I have a lamp I keep extra bulbs. Same thing to me. I don't know about the others I love my Bradley and wouldn't let it go. I would really not want to send it back to replace an element that takes 20 minutes to do when I could be smoking.
