My version of French Onion Soup

Weather is getting colder so I thought why not make somme soup..

This is my version of this classic soup
First I cut up 3 onions 2 yellow and 1 white



Next I placed them in a big skillet and cooked them down real good


Sorry about the picture

After it all cooked down real good I added these ingredents + thyme salt and pepper

looks like this when cooked down for awhile

Then I added some cheese and a big piece of French bread, tossed it in the oven to melt the cheese

  I used 15 oz of the stock, 10 oz of consume and 10 oz apple juice then let it simmer for a few hrs and it was done

The apple juice is quite a surprise I must say.

Tommy my youngest granddaughter and I will gladly have several bowls of our favorite soup.. really nice lookin soup...

Sorry  been out of town and just reading this.

No I made it on the stove.  I was busy getting ready to leave town with Kimmie and didn't have time to cook it outdoors.  But then again you gave me a great idea!  ;)

Real butter and a pinch of salt then I let them burn down slow till they are a dark brown almost burnt.  I mix the rest of the ingredients in then let it slow simmer for 2 hrs
