More great customer service.. Probe went down after a few uses and no questions asked except my name and address and a new one on the way..

Good Job Maverick..

For my 732 (2 weeks old) they are requiring me to send the old one in "to be replaced".  I wonder why?

Not sure. Probably because you have a better model than I. I am sure they will take care of you.

Wonder why too! But this 732 is the best I found so far! Only problem I got is it and my PID are 3 degrees difference. Can any one tell me why?

I had to send my 732 in also.  It was replaced.   Great service.

I cant say "great service" and "no thermometer for 2 weeks" in the same sentence.  Especially when other customers get their replacement sent immediately...

3 degrees diff, is nothing. I calibrate industrial temperature controllers and the digital models have a +-5 degree range. Not only that but a type K thermocouple with a special limits tol also has a +-5 degree range, the extention wire also has its own range. So 3 degrees is well within the calibration range. The controller is +-5, T/C #1 is +-5, T/C #2 is +-5 and the wiring is at least +-5.  Yes they both can be made to read the same but 3 degrees is nothing. IMHO.  :)

There is a 5 degree difference between my ET-732 meat probe and my dual probe Auberins meat probe. You can adjust the settings in the Auberins to change the offset reading of the temp probes.

LOL, Yes you have a point.  Mine was, as all 732's, less then a year old and used probably 5 times and not abused, only used for smoking butts or "bigger" pieces of meat.
Seems like the days of quality products or gone with a lot of things and quality customer service is the only way, if you will, to rectify problems.   Made In China seems to be the problem.   Read the label on the back of your smoker....Unfortunately it is made there also as is the Mavericks Thermometer.

Same deal with my PID. It happens.

Asked about sending the probe back. This is what they say.

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately now we require the defective ET-732 probes to be sent back to us, so we can send them back to the factory in China for testing.

Thank you

Well received my probes after about two weeks. But Im happy both mine went when they did. One one day and the next before I was able to mail the first out. So they replaced both for no charge. They also went the extra mile and sent 6 foot ones high heat. So hopefully the problem is taken care of with these new probes.
