I tried the pulled pork. Regretfully, I couldn't find pork butt this week and used picnic shoulder instead. (Yes, I know they aren't the same).

Well, what came out was the most delightful smoked pork I've tasted --- easy to slice for sandwiches..... lean yet juicy.

I did 4 of them. We ate one last night and another for lunch at church this morning..... gone in a flash!

Rich,
That's why I like the saying "Even our Mistakes Taste Good".

Nice going Rich.  Gotta love it when a plan comes together!

Hi Rich;

Welcome to the forum.

I have to agree with you about the taste of picnics.

When the guests like it you've hit a grand slam home run. Nice going.

Smokeville, do you recall what internal temperature you cooked those picnics to?

For anyone, if you're making picnic and plan to slice it, what in your experience is the ideal internal temp?

Thanks!

Well I don't make mistakes either,just think up different recipes. LOL My worse mistake was forgetting the salt in my trail and I was disappointed . But after regrinding some of it and adding miracle whip, relish and a touch of yellow mustard. What a delicious smoked sandwich spread. My friends started asking for it and it's gone now.
