My door seal seems to be quite brittle, it is two years old and works fine. I was wondering if there was any oil, lubricant or treatment that people use to lengthen the life of the seal. Also any idea of life of seal?
Thanks for any help,

My seal is almost 5 years old and still soft and works fine.  I've done nothing special to it other than to periodically clean it with rubbing alcohol so the seal doesn't stick to the tower from the stickiness of the smoke.

I've had mine for a while, and it is still very pliable. As mentioned above try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol .

After cleaning it may become pliable again, if not a food grade silicone grease or spray may make it more pliable. I would put a layer of silicone on, let it sit a while then wipe off the excess. You may have to do this a few times.

Thanks for your replies, will try cleaning first then alcohol (what a waste!) and then silicone.
Merry Xmas to you all and happy smoking for 2012.
