Going to have some pulled pork for the Bowl Game tomorrow, and I found this other hunk of meat. Is this considered a tri tip? Never done one before and my plan is to take it to an IT of 135-140 and FTC for about 30 minutes.  Does this sound Okay, im open to any suggestions

Rubbed with JB Fatboys All Purpose rub and in fridge overnight

That's from the other end of the sirloin.  The tri tip is cut from the bottom. (and rare as Unicorns around here)

You could cube it up and make Muebe nuggets, or do a smoked Italian beef with it..

K thanks for the info, so am I good taking it to 135-140 or should I do something different? Thanks in advance, the pork shoulder is in smoker now but I probably wont start this until tomorrow morning

Yeah, I think that would be fine..   Just cook it like a big roast.

Haven't done a roast yet so we will see what happens tomorrow.

Pork is 10 hours in and IT 148 , smells wonderful

Also you have a picnic shoulder, which can be use for pulled pork and many use that cut. But for pulled pork I like to use the butt; aka Boston butt, blade roast, shoulder roast. I like the picnic for slicing.

Yes I like Boston butts too, but I personally can't really tell the difference and the store I was at didn't have any left
Finally reached 195 at exactly 24 hours. Only gonna get 3 hours of FTC

Thanks guys. The wife said it was my best pulled pork yet. And the beef was melt in your mouth fantastic. I will definitely be doing another one soon.
