It's going to be my youngest son's 1st Birthday this week and we will be having the party this weekend. Invited about 50 people to attend and decided that pulled pork would be a wonderful treat for everyone. I smoked a 8lber back in October and it turned out great. So I figure why not have a go smoking roughly 32-36 pounds of tasty goodness! Found out that four good sized pork butts don't really fit into the OBS all too well. Had to make it a 2 shift smoke. Started smoking Saturday evening at 6pm. The first two went until 1pm Sunday (190 internal temp) FTC them bad boys and pulled them around 4pm. Stuck the next two butts in around 6pm Sunday and they are currently comfortable in the smoker (at around 180). Gonna have to freeze the pulled pork until Saturday for the party, but I can't wait until then. Took the dog for a walk Sunday morning and I could smell the goodness a block and a half away. I bet some people in the neighborhood woke up craving pulled pork for reasons unbeknownst to them  ;D

About 34 lbs of goodness!

Interesting pic of the near 1 year old climbing all by himself while daddy was creating the masterpiece. Please no calls to CPS, mom was right there!

Only 1 butt pulled, this was about a 10lber

Hopefully this tastes half as good this weekend as it smelled! Of course I sampled, and it was wonderful!Still got some work to do on the others, but it should be a good Birthday party!

Looks great!  What's in the paint can?  ;D

Actually paint. We remodeled our kitchen and of course that meant we needed to paint some rooms. And of course that's why the ladder is out and the little one is having a hey-day climbing!

Here's pics of round 2 for the remaining 2 butts. Pulled them out at about 191 IT. Currently chilling via FTC. Wife is in charge of pulling and adding Cider Vinegar, Brown sugar, Salt, pepper, red crushed pepper.

Saturday can't come soon enough!

Very nice looking butts.

As far as your 1 year old. You better put  a leash on him if he is already climbing like that at 1. There will not be a fence big enough for him by the time he reaches 5.

Very nice Butt! I tried something a little different, used Jan's rub on mine and used cider instead of regular Apple juice. Figured it would be the same thing. But no way. Cider is better! You are going to make 50 people really happy!
