Sure everyone likes to rub their butt  ;) or brisket, but does anyone brine it?

beefmann

brine?... humm would you  be  turning it into pastrami  or corned beef if you brine it?

Ka Honu

Butts don't normally need a brine for moisture but a lot of people inject them for flavor.  Never thought of brining a brisket unless, as beefman said, I was corning it or making pastrami.

Never brined a brisket but have injected them on a few occasions

But if you do not add a cure would you still get the corned beef/pastrami taste? I have thought about brining beef before but have not tried, but have brined pork loins with great results.
