I have a 4 rack digital where the element just doesn't seem to get the cabinet up to temp when cooking a load of pork.  I have plugged the cabinet directly to the power supply and the element glows red-hot.  I have also ran empty and it holds pretty true, but when I get a load of meat it's just not the same.
Will adding an Auber dual element resolve this issue ???

No. The PID will only help you control the temp swings but not increase the power of the element. How big of a load? Do you keep your vent open?

Vent is always wide open
I only do 2 butts at a time.
Last October I had a very small grease fire that tripped the hi temp switch and the inline fuse.  I replaced them along with the element and things just aren't the same since.  It's like the element just cycles too early.
I'm open to anything to get back to where I was . . . .any suggestions ??

I have an OBS  so I don't know much about the BDS. Someone will probably be along soon that can offer some suggestions. Could the fire have damaged the temp thermometer or whatever controls the temp?

Hey Gary, is that inline fuse that I gave you last? If so maybe that's your problem. I think it was for the OBS and it sounds as if you have the DBS.
