The week before last we spent in the Gascony region of south west France.  Since this is the home of Ventreche (another thread on this forum) I have a picture or two.  Some are poor quality taken with my phone.

On the way from Basel to our destination we stopped over one evening in Paris -

Boats along the Seine

In the background is the Paris Theater.  Notre Dame and the Bastille are in easy walking distance

Now to the Ventreche

I bought a couple of hundred grams and fried it up for breakfast.  DELICIOUS!!  This version was not smoked and had a definite red wine note (we were a stones throw away from Bordeaux).  It had been rolled with some herbs in the center as well.

Here are offerings from the main market -

And some non-food pictures - not too many of the beach areas because on the bay side they are all topless and over on the Cap Ferret side no one wears any clothing at all.  Didn't want 'em to think I was some kind of perv  ;D ;D

And one final shot for irony.  Around the town they have defibrillators in combination lock boxes for emergency medical responders.  I found this one mounted just opposite of a condom dispenser.

Somedays you're the pigeon, Somedays you're the statue.
