Making some red beans and smoked sausage today.

Got my beans rinsed.

In the pot with 10 cups water and seasoning. Broil then simmer for 3 hours.

Smoked sausage from the freezer. Going to slice and add to the beans the last 15 mins. Might make some rice still.

Sounds great but maybe "boiled" instead of "broiled"?  Loves me some red beans and sausage.

Looking good so far. Is the seasoning one of your receipts or out of a bag?
Bacon is the Crack Cocaine of the Food World.

Be careful about calling yourself and EXPERT! An ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure!

You might try cooking about 1/3 of the beans before you add in the rest.  Then by the time the 2/3 are done, the 1/3 will be "mooshy" enough to thicken the pot without adding "non-essentials."
