I recently bought a new Flag.
I have always Flown Flags on the usual Holidays but my old one was worn and faded..... I did NOT know what to do with my Old Flag ...... I called Dear Ol' Dad for the answer Of Course. He told me "we are going to do a Flag Burn Ceremony at the Legion. I will come and get your flag."
As he told me more the Ceremony was being held not by a date of the year but because the Owner of a Business that is no longer local had quite a few Flags that needed disposed of and wanted them to be Disposed at the American Legion Post His father was an active member at.
I just found that amazing that a Very Successful Businessman would Pay to have Old Flags shipped and then Burned instead of just having them thrown in a dumpster.
:'(   Tears of pride.

I fly the American Flag 365 day a year. The Boy Scouts also properly disposes of flags.

The local American Legion in my community does a Flag Burn Ceremony periodically.  They publicize it so that businesses and individuals who have flags that need to be disposed of can bring them to the Legion Hall where they are proprly disposed.
