My first big smoke and it went fairly well...

Friday evening, rubbed the Pork Shoulder with spices, bagged it and tossed in the fridge. Saturday morning, fired up the Bradley, got it up to temp, loaded up a mix of Whiskey Oak and Special Blend, put Apple Juice and water in the try. Once it reached 225, I opened the door, inserted the probe from my Maverick and promptly lost all my heat :)

Sunday morning, the prep work for the ABT's begins. Chicken Drumsticks were seasoned the night before and are resting in the fridge

Drumsticks and ABT's are ready to go in...resting now

I fired up the smoker, loaded up Special Blend and Mesquite and waited until the temp was over 240 allowing for temp loss when I opened the door. Wen back in and grabbed the next victims. I put in two trays on drumsticks and one try of ABT's, ran the probe lead up through the vent hole, advanced the first puck and closed the door. Temp dropped from 241 to 151  :o
It took over 2.5 hours for it to climb back up and it never got up to the prescribed 225. By the time the IT of the chicken reached 155, the bbq temp was only 195. We had a drastic drop in outside temperature that seemed to coincide with me putting the food in.....crazy cold and windy.

After 2 1/2 hours, I pulled everything out, set the drumsticks on the BBQ for about 10 minutes with sauce on them

Everything came out great but it was frustrating with the temp drop and slooooooooooooooooow climb back up. Bottom line, everyone loved everything so I looked like a hero  ;D
I followed one of the recipes for the pulled pork sauce but my wife found it too vinegary so I added some regular bbq sauce to it to tame it a bit...yummy.

When I return from vacation at the end of the month (cruise), I intend to build a hut to keep it from the elements.....

Sounds like everyone had a great time.

I'm not familiar with Image Shack, and don't know why your photos are not visible. Use their help section to see if there are any special instructions. You have some codes in your links that are not correct, or if you are trying to post thumbnail photos part of the code is missing. But even when I add the correct codes, or just use img codes your photos will still not display.

OK, I fiddled with it a bit. After clicking on the posted link to a pic I right clicked on the actual pic and selected "Copy Image Location".  Then I came back here and clicked on the Insert Image button and pasted the contents between the [img*]http://[/img*] boxes.

I'm glad you found the solution. I tried copying the url from the address bar, but that didn't work.
