Chappys smoke house

Hello, My name is Chappy. I am new at smoking. I am blind and enjoy cooking. After seasoning my Bradley is there a specific meat that would be a easy first smoke? Thanks

Welcome aboard. In my opinion there is nothing easier nor more forgiving that pulled pork. The only drawback is that it will take a long time - 9 to 18 hours for one. It will also teach you how to be patient when smoking with a Bradley.

... but if you want your gratification a bit more quickly, chicken is a good choice.

welcome aboard Chappy, i would go for  pulled pork for your first  smoke,

tips

pre heat your smoker to 225 for 30 minutes
box / oven temp  225
smoke wood: one of the following : oak, maple, hickory jim beam oak,
cook pork till 195 to pull / shred.  great on sandwiches with a little bbq sauce
once the meat goes in the temp of the box will drop 20 to 40 degrees F and slowly  rise... this is normal it is because of the temp difference  between the box set temp and the meat  temp when it goes in,,, as the meat cooks the box temp will rise

good luck

Welcome to the forum from Nebraska.  I agree.  Can't go wrong with a pork butt.
