Coriander, coriander, coriander?

I have a great big bag of Coriander that my mom left with me when she moved to Alberta. I have never used it and am not sure what it is good in. I thought it might go good in a sausage of some sort, not sure though. Any ideas or recipes?

you can try to plant some and hope to get some cilantro.
you can roast them on a pan and then grind them down as a spice

coriander is called for in several of my sausage recipes.  It's also in the rub for the pastrami I'm about to make.  If you've got that much, yes, try to grow some, fresh cilantro!

Coriander is one of my favorite herb. It has a citrus like flavor. If you plant them harvest the seeds and throw away the cilantro. :) Cilantro produces a soapy taste to me.

I use coriander whole, coarsely ground, and finely ground in almost any dish. It is great in stews, sauces, chilies etc.; either whole, crusted or finely ground. I often added to many of my rubs, and of course for my pastrami. I also use whole seeds when pickling vegetables, and eggs.

all good ideas, thanks. Habs I agree with you on the cilantro tasting soapy. I think I will try to plant some in the spring. I have a great big plastic tub I am going to make into a herb garden so I will throw some in. I will deligate my coffee grinder over to grind spice as I don't seem to make much coffee lately and grind some ot up. I am making sausage in a week or two so I will add some to that. I always wondered what the seeds in the pickles were and know I know. I think this coriander won't just sit in my cupboard anymore. Thanks guys.
