I just got a BDS and I bought the cold smoke adapter to go with it.

My question has to do with the cold smoke adapter.  It looks pretty simple...but there is an extra metal plate included with it and there's no instructions on what to do with it.  I could set everything up without this plate because the metal flex-tube already has an interface plate on it...I could simply line up the holes and mount it.

It looks like the extra plate should go between the metal flex-tube and the smoke tower...but the rectangular hole in the plate cuts off about half the volume of the tube from the cold smoke adaptor.  Is this designed to slow the flow of smoke?  To allow it to spend more time in the flex tube and cool off?

Also...what's with all the security features on this site?  I have to decipher codes and answer math questions just to post a question about a smoker.  Edward Snowden must have had an easier time stealing the NSA's secrets that I've had trying to register and post on the Bradley Smoker forum.   ;)

Thanks

Welcome to theforum Cheech, if I havee the right piece in mind that you're talking about, it's the adapter plate for the propane Bradley smoker. Give your brain a rest and cold smoke something-like cheese!
Give a man a beer and he'll waste a day.
Teach him how to brew and he'll waste a lifetime.

The security features will go away after a few more log-ins.

Yup salmonsmoker has it right about that extra plate. Set it aside, hook up your cold attachment a smoke away.
