I will smoke these tomorrow not sure what wood yet but I am leaning pecan. I usually go cherry but I am out. I like the longer the better method for the marinade in this recipe. It's hard to not, I mean stop licking the spoon.

Well the nuts marinated 24 hours longer than I wanted. Oh well my money is on still delicious. As for the consumable, after the votes are in I am rocking with

Mmmmm pecan is a nice mild fruity smell. Should be a nice contrast to the hot marinade.

Oops, thank you very much Seamores! Too bad pistachios weren't cheaper. These nuts do not stay around long and are always being asked for

Here they are after drying out in the oven. Note: do this in small batches. Mine are still good but because I tried drying them out all at the same time they have a bit of a char flavor. Still good just not where I would want them.
