Looking at going to Official BBQ and Burgers either tonight or tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone had been there before. Online reviews look good. Or if there is another BBQ place in the area I should look at?

You going to the 'Outdoor Sportsman's Show'? We used to go every year until I got the job I have now then I have been unable to go anymore. We would make a trip down each year and spend the day then drive back home that evening. So we never went any where to look to eat. When you are driving back to Ohio there is a place along I-80 at exit 123 Woodland/Shawville, called GIOS. It is a BBQ place, lots of truckers in there any time I go by. I never had their food but my brother said it was really good. It is the ONLY BBQ place in the whole area in central PA. There used to be a couple others but they did not stay open. I almost stopped at GIOS last night coming home but it was packed and I was in a hurry. I got to get in there one of these days. I'm not sure if there are signs along the interstate for it or not. After you exit you will go up the hill past the State Police station to the second stop light. GIOS is right there. Do not worry, when I say two stop lights, there is nothing there..... the one light is to allow trucks to enter the highway from the large WalMart warehouse and the next one is at a small intersection. It is very easy to find. Let me know if you stop and what you think of it, like I said I have not even tried it myself yet. But one of these days.  :)

Yes, pensrock. Were going to the outdoor show. We will be heading down here shortly. Thanks for the GIOS tip. Will have to look into that.

On a side note, just over $30 in toll fees to get here from NE Ohio. $1.50 for OH, $30 for PA. I guess that's what you call highway robbery.... :o

Where are you going that you even payed a toll in Pa? You must have went some way out east then down the turnpike or something. I could have shown you a much easier way and no tolls. You would actually get off I-80 at the same exit where GIOS is and then follow Rt 322 right to Harrisburg. There are a couple other short cuts I would take but I would not get into that here. Yes you have some towns to go through but it is the fastest way from here to get to Harrisburg and it takes you right past the Farm Show Complex where the show is held. A little late now though, have a good time while you are there, there will be so much to see.  :)

Does not look like we will make it up there this weekend. The little woman is feeling bad. As for BBQ joints, not a ton of them around there. If you like great pizza ask anyone where "The Spot" is. Looks like a dive but the pizza is great.

No problem river rat. Hope the misses is feeling better. The expo is just something else. So many things to do and see and so many people. Shoulder to shoulder, 5 minutes to walk 50 feet, and we got there at 10am (open at 9). Buy 2pm we were making our second round but you could hardly move by then. Our hotel is running shuttles every hour so we didn't have to drive and try to park. The traffic is just crazy terrible. Went to the beer store yesterday, 4 miles from hotel and took almost an hour round trip. Heard of people sitting in traffic for two hours going to/because of expo. But were having fun.....

We used to go during the week, like on a Thursday. That way you do not have all the huge crowds to deal with. But it is a good time and lots to see.  :)

Back home now, had a great time. Trip back took about an extra hour due to weather. Always good to be home...

Yea, it snowed here most of the day off and on, not too bad but enough to make you slow down from 70. Glad you made it home safe.  :)
