Richard, in addition to the posts here, the recipe site is a good sources of ideas and information.  The recipe site is where recipes from the forum's most experienced smokers are kept.  http://www.susanminor.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?180-Our-Time-Tested-and-Proven-Recipes

You will find that the folks who hang out here are not only very experienced, but are  also very willing to share their knowledge.  So ask questions.  The forum philosophy is that the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked.  We were all new to smoking once.  And many of us, not that long ago.  And the more experienced folks answered all of the questions we could come up with, as we tried to attain smokerhouse hero status with our families, friends, and neighbors.

You will find that we love to see pictures of your smoking process and results.  So, don't be shy about sharing your successes.  We don't consider it bragging.  It's one of the ways we learn from what our fellow smokers are doing.  And where we get ideas about things we can do.

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome from the also not so sunny Seattle area.  :)
We have a British pub here in my town where lots of UK folks gather so I've made a bunch of Brit and Scot friends.  Great fun and incredibly great sense of humor those folks.

Welcome Richard! I'm going to enter the not so sunny area of the world competition and enter central, Pennsylvania. I was once told by an Army Major I knew that we trained pilots for WW2 to fly through UK fog in our area because it has similar conditions. Anyway, a few tries and "Bob's your Uncle", you'll be a Bradley Chef.

Howdy from Canada's Wet Coast!

If you're handy with tools, you might want to make a fun project out of making a smoke shack. It'll keep you smokin' when the rain's a rainin'!
They say it's easier to quit heroin than it is to quit smoking!
